Cookie Policy

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember something between page loads, such as whether you have already dismissed a notice or which dates you were checking. Some cookies are deleted when you close the tab, others stay for a set period. We also use your browser's local storage for a couple of preferences, which works in a similar way.

This policy covers the Pralavo website. It does not cover pages you reach by following an external link, including our WhatsApp and Viber contacts.

Cookies we set ourselves

These are needed for the site to behave properly. They do not track you across other websites.

• Cookie notice choice: records whether you accepted or declined the banner so it stops appearing. Kept for 12 months.
• Booking form state: remembers the dates and vehicle category you selected while you move between pages, so you do not retype them. Session only.
• Security token: protects forms from automated submissions. Session only.

Analytics

We use a single analytics service to see which pages people visit, how long they stay and where they arrived from. The data is aggregated and tells us things like whether the compact car page is being found by people searching for weekly rates. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept the notice on the homepage, and they are stored for 14 months.

We do not run advertising or retargeting cookies. You will not be followed around the internet with Pralavo banners after you leave this site.

Third party cookies

A few pieces of embedded content load from other companies. The Google Maps panel on the contact page sets its own cookies when it loads, and it is governed by Google's policies rather than ours. The font and script libraries we load from content delivery networks do not set cookies, but they do see your IP address as part of serving the file.

If you would rather not load these at all, your browser can block third party requests, and the contact page still works without the map.

Managing cookies

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings. Blocking our own cookies will break the booking form and bring the notice back on each visit, so we would suggest leaving those alone and clearing the analytics ones instead. Mobile browsers usually hide the option under privacy or site settings.

To withdraw consent you gave on the homepage, clear the site data for pralavo and reload. The notice appears again and you can choose to decline. Declining removes the analytics cookies and leaves the essential ones in place.

Changes and contact

We update this page when the scripts we use change. The current version applies from the date it is published here. Questions about cookies, or a request about the data they generate, go to pralavo@hotmail.com or +61 3 7259 4186. Our privacy policy explains the wider picture of what we hold and why.
