Overview
Most trips around Bendigo are short. A run to the supermarket on Mitchell Street, a school pickup in Flora Hill, a client meeting near the hospital. You do not need a wagon for any of that, and a wagon is a nuisance in the multi-storey on Hargreaves. Our compact range is built for exactly this kind of day, with a turning circle that fits tight kerbside parks and a boot that swallows a weekly shop.
Every car in this group is under five years old, serviced on a strict 10,000 km schedule at our own workshop, and cleaned between hires. You get a printout of the last inspection with the keys, so you can see what was checked and when it happened.
Experience
We opened the Bath Lane depot in 2016 with nine cars and one phone line. The idea was simple: rent small, rent clean, and do not make people queue for forty minutes to sign a form. That has not changed.
Today the compact arm runs 42 vehicles across two bays, and most of our regulars are locals who need a second car for a few days rather than tourists passing through. We know the streets they are driving on, which helps when someone calls from a car park asking where to leave the keys.
Our own mechanics on Bath Lane handle every service and pre-hire check in house.

Pricing
Rates below cover the base compact group and include registration, standard insurance and GST. Longer hires move down a tier automatically, so a five day booking costs less per day than a two day one.

Seven days with a swap option if you need a bigger car midway through.
Prices include GST. A refundable $300 bond is held on the card at pickup and released within two business days of return.
How it works
Nothing in this flow should surprise you. The whole thing takes about a day from first enquiry to sitting in the driver's seat.
Pick your dates on the calendar and the system shows what is actually on the lot, not a vague range.
We hold the exact model you booked. If that car is off the road, we upgrade you at the same rate.
Upload both sides of your Australian licence, or your overseas permit with a translation if one is needed.
The $300 hold goes on your card the evening before pickup. Nothing is drawn unless there is damage.
Our staff photograph every panel with you present, so the condition record is shared and dated.
Bring it back with the same fuel level. We check it over, release the bond, and email the final invoice.
